The melabs Field Programmer is usually powered by the target board to which it is attached. However, there may be some cases where the target does not provide power or a device is to be programmed in a standalone device adapter. In these cases, the melabs Field Programmer Power Adapter can be used to power the melabs Field Programmer, as well as the target device. This Adapter is preset for a 5VDC output. Resistors can be installed to reduce the voltage to 4.6V or 3.5V. This voltage reduction is required when programming PIC MCUs that can't tolerate a 5V supply. The jack is center positive with an input voltage of 7.5 - 20VDC.
